What is luxury vinyl flooring?

Luxury vinyl flooring (LVF) is a newer, more advanced version of sheet vinyl flooring. All vinyl is waterproof and durable, but LVF is thicker. It also has more design options.

Interior Designs is a 40-year-old company and we want you to consider us your one-stop shopping source. We have a full flooring inventory. We're a major luxury vinyl retailer in Holmen, WI with a wide assortment of colors, patterns, and styles. Our installers and carpenters are highly skilled and qualified. Savings with style

Luxury vinyl flooring is an incredibly realistic mimic of wood, tile, or stone. You'll have the look without the price tag. There are a variety of images of domestic and exotic species, taken with 3D photography.

To make LVF even more realistic, you can have it cut into planks to mimic hardwood boards. While most associated with wood, some use plank to mimic stone, such as marble, granite, slate, travertine, or quartz. They feel the larger format/fewer seams gives it a more continuous look. Tile-sized pieces are groutable and can be mixed and matched to create a unique design.

All LVF is embossed to give added depth and dimension. The floors are textured with wire-brushed, hand scraped, weathered or distressed appearances. Matte, gloss, and high gloss finishes are available.

Other benefits include:

  • Exceptional durability and waterproofing. At the top is a clear melamine wear sheet that protects the floor from scratches and scuffs. It’s impossible to wear off the image, and this is one of the most recommended floors for homes with kids or pets. Nothing fazes this floor, not even pull toys.
  • Easy cleanability. Spills sit at the top and wipe off easily. All it needs is a regular sweeping and periodic mopping. Be sure to use a manufacturer-approved cleaner.
  • Fast and simple installation. The pieces are much like a tongue and groove, clicking together. They form a mat that floats over an existing subfloor. No need for nails, glue, staples or any kind of adhesive
